Standing at 18.8 x 8.2 x 18.6 inches, the Gamer Xtreme is smaller than many of its competitors, which are equally designed to accommodate future upgrades. The iBUYPOWER Element MR 9320 is 21.8 x 12.7 x 20.5 inches while the SkyTech Gaming [RTX 2070] Oracle X closes in size at 18.7 x 8.27 x 18.5 inches.
Ports
The CyberpowerPC Gamer GXiVR8060A10 has a diverse number of connectivity ports, with some in the front and a few others around the back, so you have several ways of connecting our accessories and devices.
In total, you have six USB 3.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port and a 7.1 audio channel output. For multi-monitor setup, you have an HDMI and DisplayPort; wireless connectivity comes via 802.11AC Wi-Fi.
Performance
The Gamer GXiVR8060A10 in this review is billed as a gaming desktop, but looking at its feature set, it’s obvious that this machine can easily double for both gaming and productivity. Our review unit comes with a 10th-Gen, six-core Intel Core i5-10400F processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 500GB SSD storage, alongside a 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card. This is enough power for web browsing, photo-editing, medium productivity task, and some moderate video encoding.
On the other hand, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super (with 6GB) will deliver decent frame rates on most modern games at high settings played at 1080p resolutions. This chip is a refreshed update of the GTX 1660 Ti, like the one found on the SkyTech Blaze II, another exciting gaming desktop in the same price range.
Gaming & VR
Back to gaming, this 1080p-optimized machine handles modern titles pretty well. Played at high graphics settings and 1080p resolution, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey yields 76 fps, Far Cry New Dawn plays at 89 fps, while Shadow of the Tomb Raider plays at 81 fps. The latter’s performance is quite remarkable since even consoles only run this game at 60 fps (and, not at perfect consistency).
If you compare this machine’s benchmark numbers, you’ll appreciate the over 60 fps on most games, and that’s the much you’d ask of a midrange gaming desktop that can be had at such a reasonable price. If you need to play at higher resolutions, maybe for 4K at Ultra settings, be sure to check out the CyberpowerPC SLC8260A6 and HP Omen Obelisk 875-1023 that rock Intel‘s high-end RTX 2060 and RTX 2080 Super graphics cards, respectively.
Bottom Line
There are great things about the Gamer Supreme VR, tempered with a few areas where it could have easily been much better if CyberPowerPC paid more attention to the details.
The positive aspects are the solids and high performing platform, sleek package that can handle both gaming and productivity tasks with equal aplomb.
CyberPowerPC allows the GXiVR8060A10 to be customized for those that need specifically a computing platform or a general productivity platform, with plenty of performance layers on CPU, GPU, and storage.
But for those looking for the very finest gaming levels, there are better (but pricey) alternatives like the HP Obelisk 875-1023 with its Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU, or the Omen 30L (GT13-0093), which rocks an Intel Core i9-10900K processor and Nvidia’s flagship Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card.
For gamers on a budget, the CyberpowerPC Gamer GXiVR8060A10 still offers good value in its configuration of the review hardware, it has good expansion options that make it a perfect match for gamers looking for the ultimate midrange gaming platform.
