The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is an update of the Epson ET-2750, but not much has changed. Like its predecessor, the ET-2760 is an inkjet multifunction printer, copier, and scanner that holds its ink in tanks and gets refilled from bottles, and doesn’t use disposable plastic cartridges. The result is a practical printer with incredibly low running costs and holds enough ink in the box to print literally thousands of pages.
It sits between the company’s lineup of bulk-ink all-in-one printers, just beneath the Epson ET-3760 and the Editor’s Choice Epson ET-4760. That means it has most of the core essentials you’d need for daily printing needs. However, it falls short of some core features, especially if you have specific needs, including an automatic document feeder and Ethernet connectivity.
However, if your family or small home office doesn’t need multipage scanning and copying, nor the printing speeds and features of Epson’s high-end printers, the EcoTank ET-2760 is a good choice and it will save you some money.
About the Epson ET 2760
The Epson Ecotank 2760 copies and scans from the flatbed scanner on the top of the printer and prints from the machine below. It doesn’t have a fax mode or an automatic document feeder for the scanner, but for a small home-office setup, it has almost all the key features you’ll need.
The device is reasonably compact, measuring 14.8 x 13.7 x 9.4 inches and weighing 13.2 pounds. You will need some extra space in front for the output tray to pull out, and the scanner lid hinges at the back, along its longest side, meaning you’ll need some space around the back, too. Also, if needed, it can rest in a nearly vertical position.
The control panel is on the front and it has a small 1.5in color screen, which you can interact with via a set of buttons located towards its right-hand side, the entire panel is hinged at the top, so you can pull it out to the most convenient viewing angle.

The Epson 2760 produces prints at a maximum resolution of 5,760 x 1,440dpi, while the scanner supports resolutions of up to 1,200 x 2,400ppi. It has a single paper tray, which is the 100-sheet capacity slot around the back, but it has an auto-duplex feature, meaning it can print on both sides of a sheet automatically to keep wasted paper to a minimum.
In the box, Epson bundles two boxes of black ink and one bottle each of cyan, magenta, and yellow. The supplied black ink is enough for 14,000 pages, while the colored ink bottles hold enough ink to print 5,200 pages each – so it will be a while before you need to top up on ink.
Setup and Use
If you have a smartphone at hand, it’s well worth using the Epson Smart Panel app to guide you through the setup process. The app connects directly to the printer, making it pretty easy to set up the printer and hook up the printer to your Wi-Fi network. It also ensures that you’re doing everything in the correct order, such as filling the ink tanks before you can switch the printer on.
Filling the printer with ink is an equally straightforward process, as the necks of the bottles are molded to fit only onto the correct tanks. Once the printer is set up and connected, you can print from Windows without having to install anything, but you can as well install the printer drivers and scanner software to get the full range of print and scanning options. You can also print via USB if you don’t prefer to use Wi-Fi, but you’ll have to supply your own cable because Epson doesn’t include one.
It’s also possible to control the printer from Epson’s Smart Panel mobile app, which lets you print things like photos straight from your smartphone, and you can as well bypass the control panel on the device to initiate a copy or a scan.
The final option is to use the control panel on the front of the machine. The 1.5in screen is fairly small but it offers full control over all the ET-2760’s functions.
Running Costs
Having reviewed many printers over the years, we’ve always settled on Canon’s MegaTank AIOs to deliver the lowest running costs in the printer business. However, Epson’s EcoTank models equally deliver impressively low running costs, that you can’t match anywhere. For instance, with the Epson Ecotank 2760, there’s enough ink out-of-the-box to print up to 7,500 pages in monochrome or 6,00 pages in color.
When you finally need to replace the bottles, each of the four colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) will set you back to less than $20, bringing the actual cost per page to less than 1 cent (0.3 cent monochrome and 0.9 cent color). The Canon MegaTank AIOS, including the Canon Pixma G6020, have almost similar running costs, while competitors like the Brother MFC-J805DW with INKvestment Tank models run costs of less than 1 cent for black pages and just under 5 cents for color pages.
Overall, the printer’s real strength comes in its printing costs. Refill ink comes in large bottles with enough ink to print thousands of pages, and that means the price per page is very low. It’s one of the best-value printers around, and if you don’t want to pay upfront, you can use Epson’s ReadyPrint EcoTank subscription service instead.

Print Quality
The Epson EcoTank 2760 will impress with the high-quality prints it produces. When you compare them side by side, it appears like Epson made some notable improvements over the Epson ET-2750, resulting in richer, darker colors. Nonetheless, for photos, it falls behind six-color ink tank printers such as the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550, and the best cartridge printers such as the Canon Pixma TS8350.
When it comes to printing regular documents, both mono and color prints are clear and sharp. Double-sided printing gets some bleed-through on cheap copier paper, but there’s a setting in the printer driver that lets you adjust drying time and reduce the amount of ink that’s released for duplex prints. This is helpful as it lets you get the best balance based on the quality of paper you use.
Black and white copies look clear and well detailed just like on the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw, but color copies look a touch drained of richness, but they are far from the worst we’ve seen elsewhere. Photos will look good, with vibrant, accurate colors with vivid details.
Print Speed
When it comes to print speed, the Epson EcoTank 2760 is a bit of a mixed bag. Epson rates this printer at 10.5 monochrome pages per minute (ppm) and 5pp for color prints, which is good for an entry-level AIO, but in no way impressive or fast. In testing, the ET-2760 prints a standard A4 letter at standard quality at a rate of 9.7ppm, which is a marginal improvement over its predecessor, the ET-2750 which produced the same print at a rate of 9.5ppm.
It’s about what you’d expect of a four-color ink tank printer, with the Canon Pixma G3051 printing mono pages only marginally slower. If you want to print lots of pages and don’t care much about quality, the Epson ET-2760’s draft mode is much faster, churning out the same document at 16.6ppm, but print quality is light and fairly rough.
Color printing is even slower, averaging a rate of 2.9ppm for a mixed text and graphics document, although this is still competitive for an ink tank printer. It’s slow at printing on photo paper, however, with a 6x4in photo taking well over 2 mins 33 seconds to print. Scanning speed to a PC is great, but it falls behind a little when scanning at higher resolutions.
Connectivity and Mobile Solutions
While the Epson EcoTank 2760 doesn’t include the connectivity options available in its higher-end siblings, it still gets a useful array of options. There’s Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, one USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi direct. The latter is a peer-to-peer protocol, meaning you can connect a mobile device to the printer without either of them being connected to a local area network (LAN) or a router.
For mobile connectivity, the printer supports Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Fire OS Support, and Mopria Print Service, and there’s Epson iPrint app for both iOS and Android that lets you print directly from mobile devices. The printer also has a port located on the left side, through which you can print from various SD cards.
Should you buy the Epson ET 2760?
The Epson ET 2760 is a fine choice if you’re looking for an affordable multifunction wireless printer that can churn out pages and pages of prints at the lowest prices possible. While you could certainly spend less on a cartridge-based printer with similar specs as the ET-2760, by investing in an ink tank printer like this you’ll be saving on spending further down the line due to its low running costs.
Again, it comes with enough ink to print thousands of pages in the box, and it should be sometime before you need to spend any further money on anything other than paper.
For those looking to stick with ink tanks and who need to get the most from photographs, the Canon Pixma G650 which uses six inks instead of the ET-2760’s four is a better choice. On the other hand, if you need an automatic document feeder, though, it’s worth spending more money on the Epson EcoTank ET-3760, or even our Editor’s Choice the Epson EcoTank ET-4760.
Having said all that, the Epson EcoTank ET-2760 remains a fantastic choice for the family that needs a printer that can print 100 to 150 or so pages and photos each month. It’s a versatile printer that’s good enough for a home office, perfectly sufficient for school work, and produces decent quality prints at a low cost per print.
