Computex 2024 is happening in Taipei, and we’re already seeing companies drop new entries into existing product lines. Earlier today, we saw MediaTek announce their latest AI-powered Chromebook SoC in the Kompanio 838, and Acer just unveiled a couple of new Acer Chromebook Plus models, designed for both Enterprise and consumers.
Here’s a quick look into the new Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 and Chromebook Plus 515 Enterprise.
Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514
The Spin 514 is perhaps the most interesting of the two models unveiled, as it will be only the second Plus model from Acer that’s a convertible. While it doesn’t come feature-packed as the Acer Spin 714 launched at the Google Chromebook event last year, its images and specs are pretty charming.
It boasts a 16:10 screen, upward-firing speakers, a backlit keyboard, and a very beautiful aesthetic. I’m eager to feel how this new Spin feels in hand. Acer says it will start at $549.99 when it does launch in August in North America (July for EMEA), so I’m sure the build quality is solid and the screen quality is decent as well. There are going to be a few SKUs of this unit, including an Enterprise-focused model. Here are the top specs on the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 (2024 model)

Acer Chromebook Plus Enterprise 515
At first, I was unsure whether Acer was just re-releasing the existing Chromebook Plus 515, but after seeing the specs and images, this is clearly a new device. And I just like the new look. Acer says it will only be available via commercial sales channels, so most of us may not get a chance to ever see this Chromebook on a store shelf; but there’s always a chance.
The initial SKUs with the Core 3-100U and 8GB of RAM are reasonably priced for Enterprise options, starting at $649.99, so I can see this to be a very attractive, larger device that will be quite popular with business users looking to deploy lightweight (3.7-pounds), large-screen Chromebooks on a reasonable budget.

Last year’s Chromebook Plus 515 and the newer Chromebook Plus 516 GE are already in stores, so it will be interesting to see how the new device stacks up, but it’s still an impressive one. The design is gorgeous, the color update is pretty attractive, we just look forward to its launch in June both in North America and EMEA.
