How to Set Up Samsung Q-Symphony
If you’ve got a Samsung TV and Samsung Soundbar from the above listings, or the latest released in 2023, then you’ve got Q Symphony potential.
Thankfully, the setup is very easy. Simply connect the soundbar to your TV using an HDMI or optical cable. Remember S Symphony will work with both connection types, but optical maxes out at Dolby 5.1, whereas HDMI can support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X including object-based sound.
Once connected, follow the steps below:
Press Source on your soundbar remote until you see “D.IN”.
On your TV, head to Settings > Sound > Sound Output and select TV + [AV] Soundbar.
Toggle the setting as you see fit.

-If both the Samsung TV and Soundbar are in the Q Symphony supported list and are Dolby Atmos compatible, yes, they will play Dolby Atmos even if they are from different years.
Does Q-Symphony work the same as wireless Dolby Atmos?
Yes, via Wi-Fi connection, so the soundbar has to be one of the following or newer versions: HW-Q700B, Q800B, Q930B, Q990B, S800B, or S60B.
Is Dolby Atmos wireless only compatible with TVs and 2022/2023 soundbars?
Sure, it is a feature that only 2022 (and later) Samsung soundbars such as the Samsung HW-Q990C and TVs support. Compatible TVs are all models of 55″ and above from the Q80B series and bars from the HW-Q700B onwards.
