The Acer Predator Orion 7000 PO7-655-UR11 is built for gamers who demand the best graphics possible from their gaming machine. It racks up high-end hardware and a boatload of features that deliver high frame rates in the most punishing games (even in 4K), a ton of storage for those games, and a gorgeous RGB-lit case that’s easy to work with.
While its sticker price is on the higher end, you can often find it on a sale, but its design and performance feel worth the splurge, so long as you know you’re paying for top-tier gaming performance and the desktop’s uniqueness.
The Corsair Vengeance i8200 (Core i9-14900KF CPU; RTX 4090 GPU) remains our Editors’ Choice for high-end gaming desktops, but the Predator Orion 7000 straddles the gap between high-end and entry-level in both pricing and performance.

Design & Features
Some prebuilts are only built to be showpieces, but this juggernaut of a case is easy to handle, take apart, and put back together, and it offers lots of space for replacing or adding components. While it doesn’t offer the flexibility of the CyberPowerPC Gamer Extreme or the iBuyPower Trace Mesh, it still offers some room to make it better, and Acer goes the extra mile to detail how to replace every part of its PC in the Orion 7000’s user manual.
Like all high-end gaming desktops, the Acer Predator PO7-655-UR11 gets its tempered glass and RGB lighting in generous portions. The hallmark of its design is a front panel that extends right out of the tower and has two 120mm intake fans. There are perforations around the sides of the protrusion to allow for airflow. It doesn’t have removable dust filters here. Instead, there’s a pull-out one under the tower for the power supply.
At 19.87 x 8.62 x 19.09 inches, the Orion 7000 is bigger than the Corsair Vengeance i7400 (18.4 x 9.1 x 17.8 inches) and the MSI Infinite RS 13th (18.7 by 8.5 by 16.5 inches). It’s an all-metal construction that feels solid and doesn’t flex at all, with a handhold at the rear that makes it easy to carry it out of its shipping box.
The Predator’s front easy access ports include four 5Gbps USB ports (one Type-C, three Type-A), an audio combo jack, and a microphone jack. The power button is placed at the top of the protrusion, and the audio jack includes a DTS:X Headphone license that tunes to specific headphones. A few inches back from the front ports is a hot-swap drive bay, a feature only seen in workstations.
More ports are available around the back, including one 20Gbps USB-C port, three 5Gbps USB-A ports, two retro USB 2.0 ports, 2.5Gbps Killer Ethernet, and three audio jacks. The GeForce RTX GPU has one HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort video outputs. Wireless connectivity comes via Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 courtesy of an Intel AX211 wireless card with built-in antennas.
Gaming Performance
When you’re on the hunt for a gaming PC, one thing matters above all else: graphics performance. The Predator Orion PO7-655-UR11 packs top-tier hardware, including an Intel Core i7-14700KF (20-core) CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, and 1TB HDD. This configuration can smoothly run just about any game on maxed-out graphic settings in 4K resolution.
My go-to game for high-end gaming PCs is Cyberpunk 2077, in which the Orion PO7-655-UR11 averages 64 to 73 fps at 4K with the Ray Tracing Ultra preset and DLSS enabled and almost double that (around 140 to 155 fps) in DLSS Super Resolution (auto preset). The action is buttery-smooth, even in intense combat with lots of explosions. This game does a fine job of showing off what the RTX 4080 can do and partly justifies the hefty price tag.
So, no matter which title you play on the market, with the RTX 4080, you’ll be able to get 4K@60 FPS and above, especially if you enable Nvidia’s DLSS 3 in games like Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman 3, and any game that features ray tracing.
The Nvidia RTX 4080, however, is about the only graphics card in addition to the RTX 4090 we’ve tested so far that can get close to 60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing maxed out without upscaling, so if you’ve always dreamt of playing 4K at native resolution, you can’t go wrong with the RTX 4080.
Given the hardware here, this is also a very competent creative performer, so those looking to get some work done – digital artists, professional content creators, name them all; will like what’s on offer here. That said, I couldn’t call this the best workstation PC around. This is a gaming PC through and through, and it’s here that this PC excels. Still, it lets you run intense tasks like 3D modeling and animation, but it doesn’t replace true workstations like the Falcon Northwest Talon (2024).
Acer Predator PO7-655-UR11 Review: Verdict
The Acer Predator Orion 7000 PO7-655-UR11 is everything you’d expect from any high-end gaming PC.
It packs the latest and most resilient CPU and GPU, along with enough RAM and storage for the best gaming PC gaming experience, and it sure lets you play the best PC games on the market without pausing. It’s also ridiculously expensive. We’d wish the storage was a little more for the price, but the unique design and features are all worth the hefty price you’re paying for this rig.
If you have the money to spend and want a fantastic gaming PC, the Acer Predator Orion 7000 is a fantastic choice. If you want something cheaper that still delivers the same heady blend of performance and design, I recommend the CyberPowerPC Gamer GXiVR8080A38 or the. Both are great midrange entry points into PC gaming and while neither matches the 4K power of the Acer Predator Orion 7000 PO7-655-UR11 review unit, they also cost thousands of dollars less.
