According to Bloomberg business reporter Mark Gurman, “people with knowledge of the matter” say the iPhone 14 and possibly a new Apple Watch Series 8 will be unveiled, as is the historical norm for the first of the company’s two September events.
As rumors pick pace around the iPhone 14 and the predicted September 7 launch at the Apple September event, the myriad of leaks and tips have already pointed to a fairly clear picture of the device to expect from the iPhone 14 range.
The standard iPhone 14 is expected to be rather similar to the iPhone 13, but it will most likely get some improved features and specs. It is tipped to be launched alongside a larger 6.7-inch iPhone Max/Plus.
It’s also predicted that the iPhone 14 pro models will offer a bigger redesign, and Apple is finally killing off the infamous display notch, and replacing it with a punch-hole and pill-shaped dual display cutout instead.
Also in the cards are an even better 48MP camera and new A16 Bionic chip for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, along with a possible always-on display. We’ll keep you updated on the latest as September 7 date draws closer.
The September 7 launch date lines up with the typical timeline of opening sales a week and a half after the product launch. Well, sales of the rumored iPhone 14 are rumored to start on Sept.16.
As it has throughout the pandemic, the company will reportedly stream the launch event online rather than hold it in person.
The iPhone 14 is also rumored to come with a $100 price hike. There weren’t any price changes between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, but the new model comes as Apple’s supply chain has seen cost increases.
