Dual Boot tablet PCs are getting cheaper by the day. Cube iwork8 Ultimate is such a device that runs on both Windows 10 and Android 5.1 with decent features that target users on a budget that want to experience the Dual boot Edition on a single device.
The tablet comes with an 8-inch 1280×800 pixel IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor, has 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard ROM, a front and rear 2MP megapixel camera, and a 3300mAh battery. The tablet has all that it takes to handle daily tasks such as web browsing, word editing, playing games, listening to music, and watching videos and movies, which is the same way you’d utilize a 2-in-1 laptop.
Design
The tablet PC has a strong, reliable, and stylish body build-up quality measuring 8.4 x 5 x 0.39 inches and weighing 346 grams. The thickness and weight of this Tablet PC is quite reasonable thereby making it a portable device comfortable to carry around. The device comes with a 3300mAh battery capacity, which is a disappointment because you will only get 3 hours of playing time.
Main Features
The Cube iwork8 Ultimate features a 64-bit Quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor clocked at 1.44GHz that can run up to 1.84GHz with Turbo Boost Technology. The processor is powerful enough to ensure the smooth running of the two Operating systems without slowing down. The tablet comes with 2GB DDR3L RAM which is considered enough to enable the processor to perform faster in synchronizing all the games and applications in the tablet.
There is 32GB of internal storage that is expandable to 32 GB through a memory card to increase the storage space for your Applications, videos, music, and games. The presence of an Intel HD Graphics Gen 8 processor ensures that the tablet performs well especially while playing games and watching videos. It is, therefore, safe to say that the tablet packs powerful features capable of offering fast speeds in carrying out various tasks such as web browsing, video playing, and 3D gaming.
Other Features
In terms of connectivity, the Tablet features a Micro USB port for connecting the device to a desktop computer, a Mini HDMI that will allow you to extend the display to larger screens such as the HDTV, Monitor, or projector. There is also a TF card slot that will allow you to expand the memory to 32GB to store more of your photos, movies, and other documents.
The inclusion of an OTG cable is a plus as this will allow you to connect the tablet to a number of peripherals such as a mouse or a keyboard to do your typing and editing of your homework fast and easily in Word, PPT, or Excel format. For internet connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n wireless internet and Bluetooth 4.0 that will allow you to connect with compatible devices for sharing and transfer of data.
The 8-inch tablet comes with a WXGA IPS display and a screen resolution of 1280×800. The IPS display offers wide viewing angles thereby making your video watching experience enjoyable. The screen resolution is also adequate to offer a clear display free from blur for watching all your videos and movies.
The iwork8 features a 2MP front and back Camera. This is not one of the tablet’s strongholds but the Camera is sufficient enough to take a few memorable photos and you can occasionally use it for video chatting on Skype. The speakers of this tablet are also clear and produce a relatively loud sound. The Tablet supports BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG picture formats, AAC, MP3, OGG, and WMA music formats and 3GP, AVI, MP4, RMVB, and WMV video formats.
Verdict
The Cube iWork 8 is a budget Tablet PC with a premium look that is fast and responsive. The selling point for this tablet is the dual boot system running on both Windows 10 and Android 5.1 with a clear interface on both systems. The Tablet’s Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage enables the device to handle various tasks at high speeds without slowing save for demanding games.
However, the battery capacity is a disappointment and you may have to carry your charger around in case it runs out of power. If you want to experience both worlds without having to purchase two different devices for windows and Android, then the iWork 8 fits into that space offering decent performance at an appreciable price.
