The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8080A36 is a midrange gaming PC that pushes style and performance more than anything else. It’s gorgeously designed; particularly the HYTE Y60 case with plenty of RGB lighting that makes it look great. Its medium chassis is very well laid out, affording you ample opportunity to customize and upgrade the PC in the future. But you may never need to upgrade anything, at least for now.
Considering the hardware fitted here, the CyberPowerPC GXiVR8080A36 delivers everything you wish to play at the highest settings. Packed into the panoramic case are an Intel Core i9-13900KF processor, Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB memory, and 1TB NVMe SSD storage. The competition can be had for a few hundred less and delivers nearly identical performance. Still, if you value a beautiful design, some extra RAM, and more storage, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR is worth those extra bucks.
If you’re in the market for a capable gaming rig, but don’t have the budget to splurge over $3,000 or more on a pre-built PC, and still need a machine that can ace most modern titles including Cyberpunk 2077, this would be the right choice for you. Also, the components in this PC can be purchased aftermarket, but CyberPowerPC puts them together so neatly that it feels like you built it on your own.

Design and Features
For the Gamer VR GXiVR8080A36, CyberPowerPC went for the stylish Hyte Y60 case. This case uses a dual chamber design and does a fine job showing off the PC’s internal components. It almost looks like a premium aquarium, and will look premium on a corner desk in your room.
The HYTE 60 case is a 3-piece pinnacle glass held together by a metallic frame, making it way more beautiful than the usual tempered side panels on most gaming PCs. There are front-access ports on the base, while the rest of the ports are found at the back.
In addition to the three tempered glass panels that provide a panoramic view of the PC’s hardware, the Y60 also features a dedicated basement for cooling. The wrap-around effect of the glass panels gives the PC a unique look, and the three 120mm 3-pin case fans have RGB lights as you’d find on most gaming machines. Since the bottom fans are in the basement, the PC doesn’t come with radiator support at the bottom.
Having a big chassis comes with its benefits, and for gaming machines, it’s excellent cooling. This CyberPowerPC uses a 360mm radiator AIO liquid, which is more than enough to keep the Core i9 processor cooled. The GXiVR8080A36 gets three 120mm RGB fans, in total, and another three are located on the sides and rear of the HYTE Y60 case.
Cable management in this case is top-notch and you get enough connection ports and enough legroom for expansion than most. Connectivity is excellent, with six USB 3.1 ports, two USB 2.0, an Ethernet port, 802.11AC Wi-Fi, and a 7.1 audio channel. There’s an HDMI port and two DisplayPort on the RTX 4070 graphics card for dual-monitor setups.
Gaming Performance
The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8080A36 performs, well, fantastically. It would be surprising if it didn’t. Our review unit comes with a liquid-cooled i9-13900KF processor with 24 cores, 32 threads, a stock frequency of 3000MHz, and a clocking speed of 5.4GHz, and the scrumptious beast that is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. This partnership alone needs no explanation, it is the crème de la crème of mid-tier gaming parts.
The GXiVR8080A36 can handle Control (which continues to be a punishing game of all time) at its best, albeit not at 60 fps. At 4K on the high graphics preset and high ray-tracing settings, the game runs around 45 frames per second while fighting to overcome an object of power and as low as 30 fps in intense combat sequences with tons of effects.
On the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark (highest settings), the Gamer Xtreme VR runs the game at 261 fps at 1080p and 85fps in 4K. The MSI Infinite RS 13th, a top-tier prebuilt with a beefier RTX 4090 GPU, delivers better but is still within a frame. Compared, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8040A14, which packs an Intel Core i7-13700F and RTX 4060 Ti hits 131 fps at 1080p and 59fps at 4K, and which demonstrates the generational performance difference with the newer hardware from both Intel and Nvidia.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card
The Gamer Extreme VR’s impressive gaming performance is largely backed by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, which is a replacement for the previous-gen RTX 3070 GPU, which was equally popular among midrange gaming desktops. The RTX 3070 was one of the best graphics cards of all time, and with the RTX 4070, Nvidia once again delivers an outstanding performer at 1080p and 1440p – which is where most PC gamers game at – while also being much more affordable than the other two launch cards (RTX 4080 and 4090) in Nvidia’s Ampere lineup.
The Nvidia RTX 4070’s performance prowess isn’t just limited to 1440p, it’s got some 4K gaming potential, only that it won’t compete with the top-tier RTX 4080 and 4090 GPUs. At its core, the RTX 4070 borrows heavily from the RTX 4070 Ti – both use the AS104 GPU and feature a 192-bit memory interface. The only difference is that the RTX 4070 offers 5,888 CUDA cores compared to the 4070 Ti’s 7,680 – and of course, machines packed with the former cost almost $200 less. In short, we’re glad to see a gaming machine at this price boasting an RTX 4070 card that nearly matches the RTX 3090 and 3090 Ti without the associated price and with DLSS 3.
Productivity performance
Beyond the excellent graphics performance, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme is a productivity workhorse, despite the case design that makes it unsuitable for office use. It features an Intel Core i9-13900KF processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB NVMe SSD storage, making it a beefy configuration for creatives and home users.
For everyday tasks – browsing, watching Netflix, emailing, programming – and pretty much all other tasks you’d want to run on a PC, there won’t be any problems. Even playing games while doing most of those tasks simultaneously won’t disturb the Pool of Performance at all.
CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme Review: Verdict
The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8080A36 is a well-designed midrange gaming PC that’s reasonably priced for the hardware it packs and the performance it offers. The Core i9-13900KF and GeForce RTX 4070 configuration are fast and often a touch faster than similarly priced rivals using previous-gen rivals, including the Alienware Aurora R14 and the ADMI Gaming PC. It’s competitively priced and offers a superior case design that you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
If you’re just beginning to take PC gaming seriously, the Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8080A36 is worth every buck you spend here; it looks gorgeous, packs a beefy feature set, and squeezes every bit of performance out of Intel and Nvidia components for rock solid 1440p gaming, and even some 4K. Once again, the HYTE Y60 is a masterpiece only seen in higher-end pre-built gaming machines, and we can’t insist on how unique and beautiful it looks here.
Overall, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme GXiVR8080A36 keeps performance at heart more than anything else. It can take on any task from general day-to-day tasks to intensive gaming sessions. It’s a perfect machine for old, new, and future games, and you may never need to replace it any time soon.
