The HP Pavilion TP01-2022 is the kind of PC that made HP such a dominant brand in the computer market. Matching its well-earned reputation for building capable, stable, and powerful systems with an incremental eye for elegant design and solid performance, this desktop PC is hands down one of the best business PCs HP has ever produced.
This is an HP, so this is certainly more at home in an office or campus room than an eSports tournament. That said, this midrange configuration gets some pretty powerful hardware – AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and Windows 11 Pro – so it will compete with the best of them.
The abundance of ports on both the front and back of the machine makes for an excellent workstation with plenty of connectivity options for USB peripherals, a full-sized SD card slot, an easily accessible USB Type-C port on the front, and even an optical drive – for those instances when you still need to install software from a CD or even burn data/video to a disc.
The real showstopper is the chassis. It’s simply a unique and beautiful PC, as far as office/business systems go. You don’t get the gaudy RGB lighting like with other systems, but it’s a more elegantly designed PC than the black monolith of most Dell XPS desktops.
If you’re looking to replace an old family computer, upgrade your home office space, outfit or upgrade your business or organization workstations, or simply want a powerful PC without turning your desk space into a carnival, then we can’t recommend the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 highly enough.

Design – Lots of useful ports
The new design of the HP Pavilion is one of its biggest appeals. The compact form factor – for a mainstream desktop – makes it easy to work into just about any workspace set you have, maybe an office with limited or a college dorm room, it will just fit in perfectly.
The front panel holds lots of easy access ports – including four USB Type-A ports, a 3-in-1 card reader, one USB Type-C port, and a headphone/microphone combo. Around the back, there are four more USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI, and a VGA port. With all these ports, the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 can handle whatever you throw at it.
The inclusion of a DVD drive is also pretty handy and isn’t something you see on most desktops these days, even though some business software and records still use the disc format. As such, long-term solutions are especially important for enterprise users with tons of software or data they still need to access.
Moving away from function, the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 has a beautiful chassis. It sports a silver front panel, a characteristic move from the black chassis on most HP computers. The TP01-2022 immediately reminded us of the HP Envy TE01-1022, which is easily one of the best business PCs we reviewed last year in large part because of its design, making this model an excellent complement with newer components.
The monitor is sold separately, but you can bundle it with the HP 24mh FHD Monitor. Included in the package are a basic mouse and keyboard combo, while while simple, they get the work done out-of-the-box.
Performance – Ryzen Power for Work
Under the hood, the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 packs an impressive feature set, that easily rivals even more expensive machines – an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5700G processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD, all running Windows 11 Pro. However, unlike the gaming HP Omen 30L that features an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti graphic card, our review unit only comes with an integrated AMD Radeon graphics card, that only suffices for basic gaming and video creation.
The HP Pavilion TP01-2022 configuration in this review is an excellent, future-proofed productivity machine that looks good and feels good at work. Simply put, it’s a midrange powerhouse, capable of running most business/office tasks seamlessly so that your productivity experience is completely impressive. That applies to day-to-day productivity tasks like surfing the web, processing spreadsheets, and media creation tasks, thanks to its solid feature set.
The overall experience of using this system is a very positive one. Because compared with a typical midrange desktop computer, the TP01-2022 is designed to deliver more power and efficiency for productivity applications. Booting takes mere seconds, and launching applications is blindingly brisk.
One annoyance is that HP didn’t include a dedicated graphics card, but since this machine is meant for productivity more than it is for gaming, that’s completely understandable. Also, we’d recommend that buyers budget for a better mouse and keyboard over what HP included.
But, where this system shines, is in the raw unfettered grunt offered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G processor. There aren’t many problems that this system won’t crunch effectively, especially those that require multi-threaded compute processing.

HP Pavilion TP01-2022 Review: Verdict
The HP Pavilion Desktop PC strikes a nice balance of power, performance, and price packed into a nice-looking and compact tower. In a market full of boring, office-oriented PC towers, the TP01-2022 has just enough design finesse to make it a stand out.
It’s a stellar work PC and, with lots of connectivity options, it is even useful and more capable for business and home entertainment. If you want a desktop you won’t have to mess with much, the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 is the best option you can buy.
Are there any alternatives?
Though it isn’t billed as a gaming rig, the Pavilion TP01-2022 is versatile enough to compete both against other creative workstations and gaming-forward PCs. Competitors include the capable Dell XPS 8940, which costs slightly more. Unlike the Pavilion, however, the XPS is suited both for gaming and productivity, as it has the option of a discrete GPU, which explains the higher initial price. As such, the Pavilion TP01-2022 is more aptly equipped for office tasks and web browsing at an affordable price.
Is Pavilion a good PC?
Absolutely. Given the power and performance of the HP Pavilion Desktop PC, this rig will deliver years of work productivity, and the ability to upgrade major components makes it an even better investment.
Should you buy the HP Pavilion?
Yes. As a productivity desktop PC, the HP Pavilion TP01-2022 is a fantastic desktop for the enterprise buyer looking for a reliable workstation PC and is easily one of the best-looking at that.
