The KOORUI monitor manages to succeed where many other budget gaming monitors have failed by providing a clear picture, great features, and a 144Hz refresh rate at 1440p without absolutely breaking the bank.
At a basic level, the 27-inch QHD gaming monitor features a 144Hz refresh rate that balances performance and efficiency well. Beyond that, the KOORUI 27E3Q gaming monitor includes VESA Display HDR400, 1ms response time, both FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility, and 99% sRGB coverage. Everything crammed into this package comes at an extremely attractive price point.
Despite some issues with DisplayPort connectivity and base display settings, there’s so much value packed into this monitor, for those looking for a budget gaming monitor, that it easily ranks as one of the best affordable choices on the market right now.
There are a few issues holding the KOORUI monitor from absolutely taking the crown, or even competing with our Editors’ Choice for budget gaming monitors – the Samsung Odyssey G55A – but anyone with one of the best graphics cards out there that is powerful enough to push out 1440p at more than 60 frames per second is going to find good value in this monitor. Enthusiast esports gamers looking for a competitive edge will find a lot to like here, as will a majority of content creators.
Design & Features
The first impression of the KOORUI Monitor is its sleek and modern design. The ultra-thin bezels create an immersive viewing experience, allowing users to enjoy content without distractions. The monitor’s stand is robust, providing stability and adjustable height options for optimal comfort during extended usage.
The build quality is commendable, with durable materials used in its construction. The monitor’s frame is sturdy and provides confidence in its longevity, making it suitable for both home and office environments. The stand offers height, rotate, tilt and swivel adjustments, which are not very common at this price point.
In terms of connectivity, the KOORUI Monitor offers a comprehensive range of ports. These typically include two HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2, and audio jacks, but I just wish it came with a USB port for connecting/charging peripherals. It supports VESA (75mm * 75mm), so you can hook it up to a monitor mount if you don’t want to use the included stand.
Navigating the OSD menu and adjusting settings on the KOORUI Monitor is intuitive and user-friendly. The on-screen display is well-organized, and the buttons are placed ergonomically on the monitor’s underside. Users can easily tweak brightness, contrast, color settings, and other preferences without any hassle.
Performance
Out of the box, the KOORUI Monitor presents a fairly flat and basic display image even with HDR enabled. After tinkering with various brightness, contrast settings, color controls, and HDR settings the visual experience gets flat-out amazing.
Performance-wise, this monitor features a 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution IPS screen that keeps response times to 1ms and FreeSync implementation runs without a hitch. This makes the experience of playing multiplayer modes for games like Call of Duty Vanguard and Halo Infinite an enjoyable experience that lent a competitive edge.
Playing games like Forza Horizon, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Cyberpunk 2077 shows decent image quality that is made better with the higher refresh rate. Editing photos in Photoshop or watching Netflix movies are a visual treat too.

The KOORUI Monitor incorporates adaptive sync technology, such as AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-Sync, depending on the model. This feature synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rate with the graphics card, eliminating screen tearing and stuttering. Gamers, in particular, will appreciate this technology as it enhances their gameplay experience, providing a competitive edge.
The color accuracy and vibrancy are decent, making it suitable for graphic designers and photographers who demand precise color representation. The high refresh rate ensures smooth visuals during fast-paced gaming sessions, reducing motion blur and ghosting.
The monitor includes eye-care technology that’s meant to control the level of brightness that gets to your eyes, especially over long sessions. The inclusion of blue light filters and flicker-free technology reduces eye strain during prolonged use. This feature is crucial for those who spend long hours working or gaming, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience while safeguarding their eye health.
KOORUI Monitor Review – Verdict
It’s easy to say, “You get what you pay for” about every computer part. And most of the time, that axiom is true. But there are always value gems hiding in that vast marketplace. Most monitors perform as expected for the price. But sometimes, we just come across something really special that truly outperforms the competition and costs much less.
The gaming monitors market is literally filled with hundreds of 27-inch QHD monitors suitable for gaming. If you have the money to splurge and demand the best image clarity, the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQN is an excellent choice, offering 1440p resolution, wide 98% DCI-3 color gamut, and crisp images. But if you’re on a tight budget, the KOORUI Monitor is a decent choice, that gets the job done without breaking the bank.
Finding a monitor that delivers at least 144Hz, Adaptive-Sync, HDR, and extended ergonomics affordably is always a thrill. But the KOORUI Monitor does all that, and we find it a good monitor in every way that matters. Sure, in picture quality, it isn’t on top of the pack, but for the price, you’re getting a truly great monitor for gaming, creative work, and pretty much everything else.
Flaws are inconsequential, especially given this monitor’s price. It lacks a USB port, it isn’t the brightest monitor around, and calibration is required for the best possible image. Again. We direct you back to the price tag.
The KOORUI Monitor is something of a charm. At this price point, you won’t find better HDR, color, or significantly better video processing. For more money, you could get slightly less input lag, but how many players will benefit from an 8ms difference? Unless you need every drop of gaming performance, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better display for under $300.
