The Shark NV360 Navigator Deluxe is a bagless upright vacuum, with a unique design that allows you to pick up and carry its canister separately, making it great for cleaning tight spots. It has impressive all-around performance on low and high-pile carpets, but it somewhat struggles with pet hair and heavy debris on bare floors.
It has many parts that need to be cleaned regularly, but that’s pretty typical with all vacuum cleaners. Well, there’s the dirt compartment, lint screen, brush roll, and motor filters that you’ll need to keep clean. That aside, the Shark NV360 is one of the good-looking upright vacuums with a unique design and impressive features that you’ll find useful around the home.
We have reviewed robotic vacuums before such as the iRobot Roomba i7+, but the Shark NV360 represents a different class of upright vacuums and it comes with a lift-away feature and is priced reasonably for those shopping on a tight budget.

- Strong suction technology
- Swivel steering
- High reach cleaning kit
- Power capacity: 1200W
- Flexible cord length: 25 feet
- Lightweight: Only 16 pounds
What we like
It has strong suction and cleaning
The Shark NV360 Navigator Deluxe gets really good suction, removing debris from carpets efficiently, much better than most upright vacuum cleaners we’ve tried before. On thicker carpets, however, you’ll have to push the Shark slow to work deeper into the carpet, but the suction doesn’t disappoint at all.
In case you have a pet in the household, this is certainly a great pet vacuum for removing dog and cat hair from the carpets. The bare floor setting works well too, but the vacuum can be hard to push on such floors. It comes with a self-propulsion feature, which makes everything manageable. Again, the vacuum steering does swivel and that makes it easier to maneuver when cleaning around the house.
There’s no need to purchase filters or bags
Having to make trips to the store to purchase replacement bags for an old vacuum is in itself hectic. One of the reasons you’re going to buy the Shark Navigator is not having to buy replacement bags anymore.
The Navigator Deluxe comes with a removable dust cup that disconnects easily from the vacuum – you just have to unlock two latches. Perhaps the only issue here is the size of the dust cup – it’s rather small and fills up rather fast, but that’s mostly because the suction on this vacuum is seriously impressive.
Let’s say, you’re vacuuming dirty floors in multiple rooms, the cup would likely need to be dumped out more than once when cleaning a bigger home with kids and pets. The NV360 vacuum also comes with a removable HEPA filter that comes out easily for washing.
Useful Lift-Away Feature
Now, this is what makes this vacuum cleaner unique. The lift-away feature is handy for cleaning stairs and tight spots where it’s difficult to maneuver the entire vacuum. You can use it to clean carpeted basement stairs and it works well for that. To do that, you simply detach the canister from the rest of the vacuum and use them as portable hoses. The attachments are also useful, it even includes a special adapter for cleaning under appliances.
What we don’t like
Short, non-retractable hose
The non-retractable cord might be the best for those who need it a little longer, but I don’t mind that at all. The included power cord is 25 feet long and enough for most of us. If you have a large home, you might consider buying a vacuum cleaner with a larger canister, unless you don’t mind dumping it out a few times when cleaning.
Should you buy this vacuum?
Yes. The Shark NV360 is one of the few bagless upright vacuums that gets the job done without a fuss. It sports a unique, yet elegant design that allows you to pick up and carry its canister separately, a handy feature for cleaning tight spots.
Its overall performance is impressive on low and high-pile carpets, but it somewhat struggles when picking up pet hair and bulky debris on bare floors. Meanwhile, the Shark AZ1002 Apex Upright Vacuum offers an even-better build, has a bigger dustbin and comes with a turbo brush, and performs better on bare floors. It’s a perfect choice for a larger home.
That said, people who are fed with a weak vacuum that can’t keep up with their shedding parts will find the Shark NV360 Navigator Deluxe useful, and it costs much less than its closest alternatives. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone.
